Wesnoth Ladder Competitive Gaming Ladder
The Battle for Wesnoth is the most successful free, open-source video game. The Wesnoth ladder is an open source project that creates a richer and more rewarding gaming experience by providing a competitive Elo-based gaming ladder for players around the world to compete.
Humhost loves to advance open-source projects of all kinds, and we jumped at the chance to lend our programming skills to improve a Linux gaming community. The gaming ladder project recovered and reinvented a long dead content management project. We worked closely with several volunteer programmers from around the world to create a modern jQuery driven user interface that is appealing to use and deceptively simple.
The ladder implements some very complex math modeled after the algorithms used for competitive online chess, and turned out to be one of our more chalenging projects. We are proud to provide free hosting and development services to the project, and look forward to the advancement of Ubuntu.
